Clock in to a shift, a job, or both — and export to payroll Friday

Crews can punch in and out from the dashboard. When they clock in, the system auto-links the punch to whichever shift's window overlaps the next 4 hours — so the team doesn't have to know their shift id, and tardiness (how many minutes after the shift's start) gets captured at clock-in. Duration computes on clock-out. Late and extra-minutes columns survive later edits to the shift because they're captured at the punch moment.

Reports work over any date range, both for the staff member themselves ("show me my hours this pay period") and for managers ("show me everyone's hours last week"). Open punches surface inline so the team knows who hasn't clocked out yet.

Job linkage — service-business orgs can now attach a time entry to a specific job (org_jobs row), not just a shift. Field crews on a 6-hour install can clock in against the job, and the hours feed straight into the job's actuals for billing.

Supervisor approval — every entry carries an approvalStatus (pending / approved / flagged). Managers walk through the timesheet before payroll, flip approved entries, flag the ones that need adjustment.

Admin adjustment — timeClock.adminAdjustEntry lets a manager fix a forgotten clock-out, correct a wrong time, or reassign an entry to a different job. Duration recomputes when the times change. Audit-friendly (the approval flip stamps the approver + timestamp).

CSV export — timeClock.exportCsv returns a flat CSV (id, user, in/out timestamps, hours, job, shift, approval status, notes) over any date range. Optional approvedOnly filter for the actual payroll run. Drops straight into Gusto, Rippling, ADP, or whichever provider you use.

Time tracking in Business Dash is *operational* — clock the team in, link hours to work, hand them to payroll. It deliberately doesn't try to be a project-management timesheet (categorise to projects + tasks + sub-tasks), because that's a different shape of tool aimed at a different ICP (agencies).

Service businesses can use the job-linkage to attach hours to a customer's job, and the report views to bill that customer. That's the right amount of granularity for the trades + field-service ICP. If you need the project-management shape, this isn't the tool — and we'd rather be honest about that than ship a thin imitation.
