The sidebar ships as nine workspaces — Home, Sales, Marketing, Service, Support, Billing, Store, Team, Admin — each holding the pages that belong to it. Every person can reorder those workspaces, rename them, and move any page's link to the workspace where they look for it. It changes where a link is, never who can follow it.
The workspace rail is the same for everyone by default: nine categories in the order the product was designed around, each with its pages in a deliberate sequence. That default is a good starting point and a poor final answer, because a dispatcher and a bookkeeper do not reach for the same things first.
So the arrangement is personal. Drag Billing above Service if that is your day. Call Team "Crew" if that is your word. Put Coupons in Billing if that is where you keep looking for it. The change follows you to every device, and the phone drawer shows exactly what the desktop sidebar shows.
A layout moves links. It never grants one. Persona, role and plan checks run after the layout is applied, so a page you cannot open is simply absent from wherever you put it — and a page someone else cannot open never appears because you arranged it in.
That separation is the whole design: the person owns the shape of their sidebar, the org owns what is in it.
Pages get added and retired; your layout does not break when they do. A page the layout mentions that no longer exists is skipped; a page the layout has never heard of lands in its default workspace. Reset returns the wireframe order in one click, and until you save, nothing moves.
At the top of the page list sit three pills: Mine, Team, All. Mine is your own work and the pages a member uses. All is everything the company runs. Team is the middle ground — the departments you belong to — and it only appears once you are in one. The pills scope the live numbers at the foot of the sidebar (jobs, tasks, quotes, replies owed) and decide which pages the sidebar offers; they never grant access a role or plan withholds.
